Study Visa Documents Checklist in Myanmar

  1. Original Passport with at least six months validity and available visa pages. (Non-American passport need to provide Green Card copy or Document showing legal status in the U.S.)
  2. Duly filled one Education Visa application form with two photos taken within the past six months. The “visa form” and “work history” must be filled completely.
  3. The recommendation from the respective University/ University of Foreign Languages in the event of Schooling.
  4. The recommendation from the respective schools in the event of lecturing at the schools under the Ministry of Education.
  5. Direct invitation from the Ministry, the Universities or Schools in Myanmar mentioning the duration of stay.
  6. Payment can be payable to “Consulate-General of Myanmar” in Cashier’s Check or money order only. Payment arranged through Cash/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Personal Check is not accepted.
  7. Prepaid Self-Address Return Envelope.
    (For those who apply through courier services can use FedEx, UPS or USPS with Tracking Number. Consulate-General of Myanmar assumes not responsible for any delay or loss of mail or documents while under the custody of courier services. The applicants shall not reuse the tracking numbers of all used and submitted envelopes.)
  8. Incomplete applications will be rejected at the counter. Incomplete applications through courier services will be sent back to its original destination.

Work Visa Documents Checklist in Myanmar

  1. Completed Business Visa application form
  2. Completed Entry Visa application form
  3. A passport that will be valid for a minimum of the next 6 months along with a photocopy of it, including its first 6 pages.
  4. Passport size photographs with white background
  5. Letter of Recommendation from the Company where the individual will work and is sponsoring the applicant. The document should mention the nature of the work and the applicant’s personal details, including the position in the company, dates of the travel and passport details of the applicant.
  6. Letter of Request from the Myanmar Ministry, Company, or Organization on official letterhead.
  7. A copy of the company’s registration certificate with the Myanmar government. The guarantor who provides this document to the applicant should either be the owner of the company or a senior official in the company/organization. The guarantor will be contacted by the Myanmar authorities during the visa process.

Tourist / Visitor Visa Documents Checklist in Myanmar

  1. You will need the following before you apply:
    a. Your passport validity must have at least (6) months.
    b. You have to upload one COLOR PHOTO (4.6 cm X 3.8 cm) taking during last (3 months).
    c. You have to upload your Passport Bio-Data Page.
    d. A proof of return ticket from Myanmar must be attached to the application.
    e. A proof of hotel booking must be attached to the application. Tourists must stay in registered hotels, motels, inns, guest house and resort during your stay in Myanmar.
    f. Visa, Master credit cards for the Online Visa payment.
  2. Travellers shall be subject to a thermal screening to be conducted by the respective airport, seaport and cross border POEs health authorities, upon arrival to Myanmar.
  3. The foreigners shall bear the cost of the testing, isolation and medical treatment procedures for medical conditions including COVID-19 during their stay in Myanmar and can purchase the health insurance from Myanmar insurance. Detailed information can be obtained at the Myanmar Insurance’s website (https://www.mminsurance.gov.mm)).
  4. Travelers shall report to the respective health authorities, if they have developed signs and symptoms of COVID – 19 during their stay in Myanmar.
  5. The travellers shall strictly follow the instructions made by the respective health authorities. A legal action will be taken against the traveller concerned, if there is a breach of health regulations.
  6. These public health requirements are subject to changes.
  7. These public health requirements shall take effect from 1-3-2024/ 00:01 Hour Myanmar Standard Time, and supersede the Public Health Requirements for Travellers Who Wish to Enter into Myanmar through International Airports, Sea Ports and Cross Border POEs(1-9-2023).
